Synopsis

Third-year junior high schooler Manaka Mizusawa is tasked by her teacher to put a poster up about a trial ice hockey class sponsored by the Dream Monkeys, their city's local professional team. Interested in attending the class herself, Manaka also persuades her younger sister Ayaka and her clubmates Kaoruko Yanagida and Mami Ono to join her.

When the four gather at the gymnasium where the tutorial is held, they meet fellow third-year students Riko Saginuma and Naomi Takagi. As the girls practice their hearts out, their fascination for the sport increases, motivating them to play on a competitive level. Wanting to experience the unique and exciting memories that ice hockey can offer, the girls gradually form a team that has the potential to reach the top.

Pride of Orange has a good story of rising to the top of Hockey especially since it adds in development of its characters.

The characters are pretty likable and funny and are easy to get attached to and see them change.

The music and animation are just a big hell yea to the audience showing how not only are the characters great but the music and animation are something entirely.

The development of its characters and pacing were enjoyable and so were the moments shown.

Mixed Feelings

The animation is fairly decent, but rather uninspired. Action scenes are decent, but not all that impressive. There are some decent backgrounds and the characters are drawn fairly well. However, everything feels stale and uninspired a lot of the time. The characters are pretty bland and cliche, don't expect to really like any of them. Story is bland, boring, and extremely linear. Pacing was fine, but not enough to make the anime in anyway exciting. Voice acting was fine in terms of casting. However, the actual performances were shrill, annoying, and unimpressive. This anime was almost as difficult to watch as it was to find the 'write a review' button on this website.

It's a sports anime, but there's barely any actual playing involved.
I have no idea who the characters are or what makes them tick. They have no character development whatsoever, other than "yay power of friendship, we're having so much fun" with zero substance.

At one point I thought this was going to turn into a 'ice hockey team also is idol group' affair, but even that doesn't really come to pass. There was a character who left early in the series and later came back, but ...
